Accountability that supports recovery.
ClearPath Monitoring is a patient-monitoring platform for substance use disorder treatment programs and sober living homes. Care teams get one secure place to see how each patient is doing between sessions, and patients get a direct line to their care team on their own phone.
What ClearPath is
Built for the work between appointments
Recovery doesn't stop when a patient leaves the building. ClearPath pairs a staff dashboard (on the web and as an iPhone and iPad app) with a ClearPath app on the patient's own devices. The facility decides what is monitored, the patient consents and can see that monitoring is on, and the care team is told when something changes. Records stay with the treatment facility. ClearPath is the software they use.
An honest promise
No software can stop a determined person from getting around controls on their own device. ClearPath doesn't claim to. Its promise is narrower: a patient can't get around it quietly. If monitoring is switched off, a protection stops working, or a device goes silent, the care team knows.
That's accountability rather than prevention, and it's a promise we can keep.
Who it's for
Made for treatment teams across the continuum of care
From residential treatment through step-down care to sober living, ClearPath follows the patient as their level of care changes.
Residential treatment & detox
Visibility for programs that let patients keep their phones during inpatient care.
PHP & outpatient programs
Support for patients living in the community while they keep attending treatment.
Sober living homes
House chat, chores, outing sign-outs and curfew requests, run by house managers.
Clinicians & case managers
Alerts, notes and patient messages, with each person seeing only what their role allows.
What it does
Everything a care team needs in one place
Location & geofencing
Allowed areas and restricted zones with schedules and grace periods. Staff are alerted when a patient leaves where they should be or enters a place they shouldn't.
Web & app safeguards
Web filtering from the facility's blocklist and app restrictions (through Apple's Screen Time on iPhone). Blocked attempts are logged for the care team.
Alerts & tamper evidence
The care team is told when a protection stops working, monitoring is switched off or a device goes quiet. Only staff, using their own codes, can pause monitoring, and every pause is recorded under their name.
Messaging, calls & journal
Secure messages, plus voice and video calls between patients and their care team that are never recorded. There's also a private journal for the clinical team to review. Notifications never reveal what a message says.
Schedules & house life
Appointments on the patient's phone, plus house chat, chore rotations, outing sign-outs and curfew-extension requests for sober living residents.
Staff dashboard
Patients, alerts with clinical notes, a live map, activity history and team messaging. Remote actions include lockout, pause and discharge, which releases the patient's device.
Supported devices

Privacy & security
Designed around patient privacy from day one
Substance use disorder records carry some of the strongest protections in healthcare. ClearPath is designed with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 in mind.
- The treatment facility holds the records. ClearPath processes information only on the facility's instructions, and it's never sold or used for advertising.
- Every view is logged. Each time a staff member opens a patient's record, location, messages or journal, the system records who looked and when.
- Role-based access. Staff see only what their role allows, and records are kept separate by facility.
- Discreet by default. Notifications never show message content, and browsing details are hidden until a staff member deliberately opens them.
- Clear limits. The app doesn't read outside messages, email or photos, doesn't record calls, and stops reporting at discharge.
- Secure sessions. Traffic is encrypted in transit, sign-ins are individual, two-factor authentication is supported, and idle sessions end automatically.
